Swimming with an Endless View

The natural pool designers took advantage of the wonderful location on a western slope in West Gallilea, an agricultural region in northwestern Israel, to build a dramatic infinity pool. From the perspective of the swimmer, the pool seems to go on into infinity, as though the surface of the water is melting into the sky and the sea. A generously-dimensioned terrace out of limestone encompasses the water on three sides. The regeneration area covered with white water lilies looks like a stylized spring pool, from which the lovely, fresh water flows down to the valley. Along the infinity edge along the length of the swimming area, the water seems to vanish into nothingness. However, it remains in the system, but overflows into a lower-lying channel from which it is pumped back into the regeneration zone.
