In this project located near Switzerland’s Lake Lucerne, the landscapers made use of a steep gradient of over five meters to stage a dramatic scene. On the ground floor level of the house they created a new garden level, moving the Natural Pool down the slope to the outer edge of the property. The massive supporting wall, invisible from the garden itself, forms one of the edges of the swimming area; as a result the Natural Pool appears to almost float weightlessly out over the valley. The longitudinal axis of the swimming area runs exactly east to west. At each end of the pool is a wooden deck, fully equipped with a sun umbrella, sun beds and pool ladders.
