Nearby the railway stations King’s Cross and St. Pancras a district of London is going to be redesigned completely. In the middle of an enormous London construction site a natural pool has been completed recently. The pool stands as an open invitation to the inhabitants of London to come enjoy a swim in natural water, enabling them to experience nature up close and personal in an urban setting. The pool is situated two meters above street level and measures 400 square meters. It is the first public bathing facility of its kind in the UK. The idea was originally developed by Slovene artist Marjetica Potrč and Ooze Architects (Eva Pfannes and Sylvain Hartenberg). UK company Kingcombe, a BIOTOP partner, was commissioned to carry out the project.
