Rectangular designer pond

We designed the pool to link the house and the client’s garden. The garden is very natural, with a range of trees and a wildflower meadow, so the pool needed to sit well with this environment and yet fit with the modern architecture of the house. The pool is sited close to the house for wonderful reflections and to be part of the kitchen and living area, which has large glass windows. Stepping stones across the water link it to the garden. Lily areas were constructed at the step end of the pond and then small marginal strips of planting down each side. Stepping stones were built on pillars with the water flowing between the swimming areas and planting areas.
